Detroit Receiving Hospital
Detroit Receiving Hospital is an emergency/trauma center with
320 beds and a volume of 81,000 patients per year. Detroit Receiving
Hospital has a number of services that are unique to the metropolitan
area:
- An adult Burn Center with burn intensive-care and burn step-down
units;
- A Psychiatric Crisis Center open 24 hours daily;
- A Rape Crisis Center with a rape counselor who is on duty 24
hours daily;
- A Spinal Cord Unit for treatment of patients with spinal
cord-related injuries.

Hospital of Michigan
Children's Hospital of Michigan
The Children's Hospital of Michigan emergency department is the
only fully dedicated pediatric emergency department in the
city. Aside from being a Level 1 Trauma Center and major hospital
for medical disorders, it is the teaching arm for pediatrics
in the Wayne State University School of Medicine. The emergency
department of Children's Hospital is one of the busiest in
the country with an annual census of 60,000.
The facility was refurbished in 1999 with the decor centered
more toward children in all of the 15 exam rooms and hallways.
The new trauma/resuscitation bay is a state-of-the-art facility
with a capability of handling multiple patients simultaneously.
The emergency department of Children's Hospital of Michigan offers
modality of treatment for children, including:
- Pediatric Burn Center
- Pediatric Hemodialysis
- Full compliment of all surgical specialties
- Physical medicine and rehabilitation; and
- A special team for head trauma.

Sinai-Grace Hospital
Emergency physicians at Sinai-Grace Hospital, the only major
trauma center in northwest Detroit, treat nearly 55,000 patients
annually.
The department sees patients of all ages with a wide variety
of medical emergencies. The emergency department has recently
undergone
a major renovation and occupies more than 33,000 square feet
of space.

Harper University Hospital
Harper University Hospital is a 500-bed institution known for
its oncology, neuroscience and cardiovascular services. Emergency
physicians
at Harper University Hospital Urgent Care Center handle about
24,000 annual patient visits with emphasis on adult medical
complaints. The Urgent Care Center occupied a new state-of-the-art
facility
in 1994.

Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital
Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is the newest hospital in Oakland
County, opening March 6, 1986. Since then, the department has
seen steady
growth. Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital was created to serve a
population of about 200,000 in western Oakland County, including
the surrounding
communities of Highland, Milford, Walled Lake, Wixom and West
Bloomfield. The ability to rapidly access the tertiary care
provided by the
other Wayne State University physicians at other facilities
offers us the type of backup necessary to afford our patients
the very
best in acute medical care in community hospital setting.
