Women's Health Initiative
The Women's Health Initiative
is one of the largest preventive studies of its kind in the United States.
It is a 15-year research
program that comprises three major components:
- A randomized, controlled and clinical trial of promising, but
unproven approaches to prevention;
- An observational study to identify predictors of disease; and
- A study of community approaches to developing healthful behaviors.
