Wayne State University ophthalmologists comprise the Kresge
Eye Institute, which is dedicated to effectively and efficiently
treating eye diseases, disorders
and injuries. Through our ophthalmologists' work at the Kresge Eye Institute,
many who would have been blinded by disease a generation ago are able to maintain
their vision.
WSU ophthalmologists' mission is to offer the most advanced medical and surgical
eye care while conducting innovative research that will eventually improve their
patients' quality of life and providing the finest medical education and training
for tomorrow's ophthalmologists.
Wayne State University ophthalmologists are considered leaders in preserving
sight and pioneering eye research in both basic and clinical areas. Many patients
from throughout the Midwest are referred to WSU ophthalmologists for the treatment
of difficult vision problems. We treat more than 60,000 patients annually and
perform almost 4,000 surgical procedures.
