The Department of Orthpaedic Surgery at Wayne State University Physician Group is a group of specialists who treat diseases and injuries involving bones, joints, muscles, and connective tissues. WSU orthopaedic surgeons are committed to applying the latest medical knowledge and technology to meet the needs of our patients.

Because of our strong commitment to medical education research and patient care, our physicians are recognized by their peers as being among the best in the nation. Many of our orthopaedic surgeons are actively engaged in clinical research in such areas as immunology and biomechanics. Some of our faculty regularly present at major national and international medical conferences.

We provide specialty medical and surgical care for diseases and injuries involving the musculoskeletal system, including:

• Treatment for bone and soft-tissue tumors;
• Treatment for foot and ankle problems;
• Treatment for hand, wrist and elbow problems; and
• Treatment for shoulder injuries.
  All physicians are board certified or board eligible and are faculty members of the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
