The more commonly known name for an otolaryngologist is "ear, nose and throat doctor." However, today's otolaryngologists receive broad-based training in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the head and neck, making the nickname "ENT doctor" somewhat obsolete. Wayne State University otolaryngologists are graduates of accredited residency programs and are board certified (or eligible) in otolaryngology. |
