With an emphasis on returning patients to home, family, work and all aspects of community life, it's no wonder the field of Physiatry has often been labeled the “quality of life” specialty, adding both life to years and years to life.

As the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for Wayne State University Physician Group (WSU PG) our physicians (also known as Physiatrists) and neuropsychologists provide a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services for patients with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, musculoskeletal disorders, back and neck pain problems, amputations, geriatric conditions, work-related injuries, sports injuries, and other medical conditions.

We also have access to research opportunities unavailable in non-academic settings. Our physicians serve as faculty members for the Wayne State University School of Medicine and are involved in the training of future physiatrists and neuropsychologists.
